I'm a college student addicted to fairy tales, fantasy, and just about anything that begins with the words "once upon a time". I am an avid reader and proud comfort human to a lovable but terrified pit bull, Arlo.
I've grown up browsing the shelves of a Kepler's Books and know the value of it’s community events to young readers, as one of my favorite childhood memories is of attending the seventh Harry Potter book release party on the eve of my ninth birthday many years ago.

My primary reading interests are YA and Adult fiction (fantasy, historical, and romantic), but I am always willing to read something new, and will check out ANY book that comes with a passionate recommendation. I also love Children's Literature and frequently turn back to the Penderwicks or "Anne of the Island" when I need a little pick me up. Some of my favorite authors are Sarah Cross, L. M. Montgomery, and Meg Cabot. And my absolute favorite book, and most prized possession, is my Advanced Reader's Copy of "Ella Enchanted" by Gail Carson Levine.  If you want to see my eyes light up just ask me what’s so great about that book!

This story follows several different characters and is an intriguing journey right from the start. When I first finished this novel, I was frustrated by its end, but then I reread those last few sentences and realized that it was quite possibly the best conclusion to a story that I had ever read. And, if you want to challenge me on this, you’re going to have to read it first! --Ella

Perhaps one of the funniest and most embarrassing moments of my ongoing college experience was when my roommate walked in on me reading this play out loud to myself in varying British accents; I just couldn’t help myself! Published: William Morrow Paperbacks - October 3rd, 2000

Reading this book, I fell in love with the ugly stepsister not just in spite of her flaws but, in many ways, because of them. This modified fairytale is full of romance and personal growth, and almost none of it involves a prince and a pair of glass slippers!

If you’ve ever loved Cinderella, you simply must give this book a try and, if you hated her, you should read it to see why her step sister did too! --Ella

Tear You Apart Cover Image

Published: Carolrhoda Lab (TM) - August 1st, 2016

A wonderfully dark take on Snow White. “Tear You Apart” takes place in the peculiar town Beau Rivage, which is home to a group of individuals who are cursed to live out various fairytales. As a young girl, Viv adores her beautiful stepmother, at least, until she is informed that, to her beloved stepmother, she is just like the dog form “Old Yeller” and will meet the same fate. This exciting story is spiked with romance and danger as Sarah Cross challenges the idea that being a fairytale princess guarantees a happily ever after. --Ella
