How you can tell if we have a book in our stock:
Starting the week of May 25, we resumed fulfilling orders from our store inventory. We maintain over 35,000 books in stock at the bookstore and our buyers go to great lengths to ensure we have the books you are likely to be looking for. To make it easier for our customers, we are changing the notations that accompany each item’s stock status as follows:
- “In Stock In Store" means we have the item in inventory at the bookstore.
- "Usually Ships in 1-5 Days" means we don’t have this item in inventory at the bookstore but it’s available with our primary distributor and we can get it for you.
- "Special Order" or "Hard to Find" means the item is not available with our primary distributor. In some cases we might be able to get it from the book’s publisher.
Expanded Plaza Hours: We have expanded our Plaza Service hours as follows:
- Tuesday - Saturday: 10am- 7pm
- Sunday - Monday: 10am-5pm (Last Monday of each month 10am - 4pm)
Phone Service Hours: To speak with a bookseller, please call the store at (650) 324-4321 during these hours:
- Daily: 10am - 5pm
We will also be able to put same-day holds on books in stock, and you can pay for them when you pick them up.
Web and Email Service: Our website continues to be available 24x7 and our web orders team is processing orders seven days a week. If you need assistance with an order, please email us at askkeplers@keplers.com. Booksellers are available to answer questions about existing orders, help you place an order, or provide book recommendations.

We are regularly adding new books, new reviews, and curating new book collections on our website, so please continue to visit us online to buy books, buy gift cards, and renew/start your membership. Please note that like most retail stores we are not accepting cash payments and our restrooms are not open to the public. We are continuing to monitor the public health situation and making plans to open the bookstore to welcome all of you back in the near future. Please stay tuned for more information.
