Kepler's Plaza Pickup Service

How you can tell if we have a book in our stock:

Starting the week of May 25, we are resuming fulfilling orders from our store inventory. We maintain over 30,000 books in stock at the bookstore and our buyers go to great lengths to ensure we have the books you are likely to be looking for. To make it easier for our customers, we are changing the notations that accompany each item’s stock status as follows:

  •  “In Stock In Store" means we have the item in inventory at the bookstore.
  • "Usually Ships in 1-5 Days" means we don’t have this item in inventory at the bookstore but it’s available with our primary distributor and we can get it for you.
  • "Special Order" or "Hard to Find" means the item is not available with our primary distributor. In some cases we might be able to get it from the book’s publisher.


How our Plaza Pickup service will work:

  1. Order your books: Order online at www.keplers.com and select the “Plaza Pickup” option.
  2. Picking up your books: After the order is placed, you’ll receive an email notification that your order is pending in our system. Once our staff has processed your order and packed your books, you will receive another email notification that your books are ready for pickup and you may drop by anytime during our operating hours.
    Once you arrive, simply walk over to marked tables on the Plaza, give us your last name, and we will retrieve your order.
    We notify customers when one or all of the books they have ordered are ready for pick-up.  Please check your email to determine which books in your order are available for pick-up.  You always have the option of waiting for ALL books in your order to arrive before picking up your order.
    Plaza Pickup Hours will be from 12 pm - 4 pm Tuesday through Friday and 10 am - 2 pm on Saturdays. 

  3. Be safe and honor the public safety mandate: When picking up your order, please please wear a mask and maintain at least six feet of distance from others at all times. We are relying on you to comply with this important public safety mandate.
  4. Call or email us for any questions: For any customer service issues or questions, please contact us at service@keplers.com or 650-324-4321. During Plaza Pickup hours, we will have limited staff inside the bookstore to take your call.


Additional Clarifications:

The health and safety of our staff and customers is our first priority. We have implemented CDC-recommended guidelines for cleaning protocols, as well as PPE requirements for staff, during store operations. In order to maintain the pristine condition of new books our staff will be wearing gloves and masks while handling the books.

The bookstore is NOT open for browsing, and customers are not allowed in the store. We are sorry but this means no bathrooms, no last minute purchases or changes, no returns, no in-person contact with our Kepler’s team. We will not be able to bring books to your cars (or bicycles or air-taxis).
