The White Tiger - Kepler's Staff Review

Former chauffeur Balram Halwai writes a letter to President Wen Jiabao of China to explain how he escaped his fate, moving from a tea shop to becoming a self made entrepreneur. If roosters don’t try to escape when they see other chickens being killed, Adiga says people don’t try to escape their caste because of the consequences to their family. Our white tiger has no such concerns. This is a story that covers so much of modern day India with a sprinkling of murder and corruption to add spice. Full of dark humor and social indignation, this is a book you shouldn’t miss. --Angela M.
