Kepler's 2020 Project in the News:
The look of sheer joy of the face of the young boy swinging from a Stegosaurus' tail on the cover of this book says it all! Really, why DON'T dinosaurs come with everything? What starts out as a seemingly harmless, boring morning of errands, turns into a joyful adventure for a young boy as he discovers that after the completion of each errand, he gets a free dinosaur. As his increasingly annoyed and terrified mother ushers him from place to place, he receives a collection of dinosaurs that makes him strike all kinds of gleeful poses. After assuring his mother that he will take good care of his new friends, the boy and his mother return home. While mom lies down for a "nap," the little boy shows them around the yard, making sure to instruct them on how to behave--which ends up giving his resourceful mother a brilliant solution to her dino dilemma. The Association of Booksellers for Children awarded this book the E.B. White Read Aloud Award and for good reason. If you haven't read it to your child yet, you may want to prepare. I guarantee you'll be reading it over and over for a long time to come. Reviewed by Angela K. |
