Most of our stock at Kepler’s consists of new books. However, to better serve our customers in these difficult times, we are now stocking high-quality used books. You'll find these heavily discounted titles in the used book area and on our shelves clearly identified with a green sticker on the spine.
We buy all of our used books from our customers. Our needs change daily, and we select books based on demand, quality and on how they complement our inventory. The seller will be issued a Kepler’s gift card, redeemable for anything we sell, even special orders! Trade-in value is typically determined by desirability, condition, in-print prices, and current stock levels. If you have lots of boxes, we encourage you to call or email ahead (usedbooks@keplers.com) for an appointment so that we can take care of you swiftly. If you wish to donate your books to Kepler’s, just drop them off at the used book counter. This is, of course, a wonderful way to contribute to the longevity of the store.
Buying Guidelines/Selling us your books
We purchase used books Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 AM to 4 PM. We must physically see a book to consider buying it. We do not offer cash for books.

If you have any further questions, please ask for our Used Trade Buyer at (650) 324-4321 (between 10am - 4pm; Tuesday - Saturday). For your convenience, if we decide not to buy some of your books, you can leave the books we can't use and we will donate them elsewhere, whenever possible, or recycle them for you.
