A Tree Grows in Brooklyn - Kepler's Staff Review

A must read, or in my case a re-read.  This timeless novel is about nothing, and yet it is about everything.  The story is about the life of Francie Nolan, a child growing up in the Williamsburg slums of Brooklyn from 1902-1919.  During these years Francie “comes of age”.  Francie represents women of all generations.  She is easy to relate to no matter how old you are when you are reading her story.  This is an exceptionally “meaty” book club read, with its rich characters and clear description of life in Brooklyn during the early 1900s.  It is a great Mother-Daughter book club read.
