Wyatt Hunt returns for his second adventure in this intricately woven thriller. The Hunt Club has fallen on hard times and Wyatt is ready to close his Private Investigation business when his protégé Mickey talks him into a tricky scheme. The Hunt Club will help the police collect tips on the murder of a prominent member of the San Francisco nonprofit community. Mickey's theory is that many of the people who might have information would be more comfortable talking to a private detective and not the police. When Mickey talks one charity into contributing to a “reward”, the entire investigative process snowballs beyond anyone's expectations. Neither Wyatt nor Mickey is prepared for the vicious twists wrought by their seemingly simple plan to keep the Hunt Club in business. This is a diabolical murder mystery set against the Bay Area's nonprofit industry, where no one is what they seem to be and many witnesses have good reason to be afraid. --Ann D. |
