Jennifer Sattler wrote and illustrated this lovely tale of Sylvie the flamingo who wonders why she and her family are all PINK!  Mom of course has the answer "because the little shrimp we eat are pink".  Of course, thinks Sylvie, so what will happen when she eats palm leaves, or grapes, or chocolate, or sky?  How about a flowery hat, or stripy tights, and after all those things how will her tummy feel?
 
Of all the delightful illustrations, my favorite would have to be an all-pink Sylvie except for a swirly lollypop bottom!
