This book is certain to create a giggly buzz amongst young readers headed back to School or off to Pre-school for the first time. Follow Busy Bug as he gives us a school tour through the bug-bursting, cleverly- engineered reading box, and the art box, and the math box . . . .   My favorite is the music box, which you will just have to open to meet whose chirping inside!  If you like what pops out at you, check out the other bug books in this three dimensional series about fun-loving bugs.

David Carter is best known as the master paper engineer of the pop-up design books that mesmerize all ages: One Red Dot; Yellow Square; and 600 Black Spots.  But with last year’s Horton Hears a Who he proved that paper sculptures cannot just illustrate a story in three dimensions, but that in the right hands, they can improve a story we thought we already knew by heart.   I love his work!

This companion book to the fabulous Tails, Matthew Van Fleet visits the "Other End" and talks about all the fun stuff at the top! Noses and sneezes, tongues and belches, ears and eyes. Touch and feel and push and pull-this is just as gorgeous, fun, and engrossing for the toddler set as every other creation from this master interactive baby book artist.

Llama Llama Misses Mama continues the tale of the daily adventures of little Llama. This newest installment is full of llama drama. It's little Llama's first day at school. What could be harder than feeling all alone AND missing your mama? As always, Dewdney's rhymes flow effortlessly. The pace and repetition are sure to capture the attention of little llamas everywhere. Llama Llama Misses Mama is my favorite new read aloud title.

Toddlers delight in spotting the missing animal. You'll be humbled by how readily they seem to remember "who is hiding?" while you struggle to keep up. This book is a joy to read and play with any child from the time they can recognize animlas until way into their pre-school years.

Can you gallop like a horse or strut like a rooster? Can you stop flipping the pages once you have opened this book? It is amazing--I opened it and just kept turning the pages back and forth, marveling at the technology. Using Scanimation, this picture book literally brings animals to life. They move. They run. It's a hard book to put down.
