"This is one of the funniest books I have ever read." I say this to people and, unless they too have read it, they look at me as though psychiatric counseling might perhaps be in order. If they have read it, however, the response is usually along the lines of "ohmigod, that is hysterical, I couldn't believe it" and we then have to defend ourselves to any bystanders. Mary Roach manages to approach this most sensitive of subjects in a manner that is funny, tender, respectful, and ultimately educational. Would I donate my body to science?
