Kepler's 2020 Project in the News:
For those of us who love to play with our silverware during meals, here is a whimsical book about appreciating yourself. Spoon has a wonderful life and a lovely, funny family, but he cannot help wishing that he cut and spread like Knife, could get around like Fork does, or could be as chic as Chopsticks. What he does not know is that Fork, Knife, and Chopsticks all would love to be able to measure, to be silly, to act independently like Spoon can!
As Spoon's Mom tucks him into bed, she reminds him that his friends in turn may never know experiences that Spoon has all the time like "the joy of diving headfirst into a bowl of ice-cream;" or knowing what it feels like "to click against the side of a cereal bowl;" or "twirl around in a mug." Her words soothe Spoon and prompt him to ponder the unique pleasure of who he is until all he really wishes is to sneak into bed with Mom and Dan and "spoon" hug in that perfect way that only spoons can!
Scott Magoon's witty illustrations will have young readers giggling at the very distinctive & personable utensils.
WARNING: This book may prompt some of the eating tools at your table to come to life!
