The Sock Knitter's Workshop - Kepler's Staff Review

Let me start off by saying I’m the kind of knitter that is reluctant to get knitting dictionaries. I have two general needle work dictionaries on my shelf and a ton of pattern books, but this book has made it into my collection for its ability to always be able to answer any sock question for me.

Beginners hold tight, seasoned sock knitters get ready to start your engines as you throw out the patterns, grab a pen and paper, the yarn you have in mind, and your favorite size needles, as you begin to start a pair of socks that will be unique as your gauge, because using this book you can make over 1,000 different socks!

This book allows you the freedom to grab any yarn out of your collection and start a sock on a whim as you cast on a cuff and can wait to choose your leg pattern till you get to it. Find that there are many paths to getting the perfect heel, or just forget about it till you’ve grafted your toe and do an “afterthought” heel that will make you happy you never have to pick up stitches for an instep again.

My only advice is grab a piece of paper you can write down your final pattern notes on, because you’ll catch startitis if you have to look through the book to figure out how to make the mate to the sock you just knitted! -- Christian SD.
