The Sixties - Kepler's Staff Review

Filmmaker Robert Altman’s black and white photographs document a generation coming of age as it discovers whole new worlds of idealism, spirituality, community and sensuality. He gets it all: be-ins, People’s Park, flower children, communes, anti-war demonstrations, hippie buses, long hair and ‘60’s musicians. Faces of the famous and the not-famous - all familiar and all so young. For me, it’s these fresh and earnest faces that rekindle the belief we had in a radically different and better world. For those willing to see, Altman’s pictures are a gift: a chance to see the sixties without resort to stereotypes. A kick to look through and touching to reflect on.
