The Shadow of the Wind - Kepler's Staff Review

Daniel discovers an amazing book by Julian Carax buried in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. He wants to read more by this author but finds someone has been systematically destroying all of Carax's works, someone with a name straight out of the text itself. So starts Daniel's quest to find out more about the author and his accursed books.

This lush, extravagant story, set in post war Barcelona, has everything: doomed love, betrayal, tragedy, lost friendship, hatred, murder, and "the dreams that live in the shadow of the wind."  It has become one of my very favourite books. --Angela M
