Vlad's back, still besotted with Meredith (can Henry's newly arrived cousin really like her too?), still harassed by bullies, and apparently being tracked by a slayer (yes, vampire slayers do exist). Oh and Eddie, the school photographer, is following him too. What's a half vampire to do? On the plus side, his Uncle Otis takes him to Siberia to train with Vikas, an old friend of his father's, on vampirology (how to read other people's thought and control minds, that sort of thing). This combines the trials of ninth-grade life with a well-plotted pageturner that is both a little scary and yet thoroughly amusing. Reviewed by Angela M. |
