The Mud Fairy - Kepler's Staff Review

by Amy Young We sometimes forget that there is a particular fairy for each of many different things.  We all know that Rainbows have fairies, and Flowers have fairies.  When each of the fairies reaches 100 they have learned enough to discover their own talents and earn their wings. Poor Emmalina.  She never quite fit in with the dainty fairies she grew up with.  When she came home from playing she was muddy more often than not.  She liked to play with the frogs rather than sitting up straight, and she just didn't know what she might be good at.  Sad and disappointed, Emmalina retreats to her friends the frogs--only to discover that they in fact DO need her help.  She watches over the tadpoles until they grow up to be frogs themselves.  When she finally returns home, wet and muddy, the Fairy Queen has a wonderful surprise for her-- Emmalina may well have discovered her true talent and will finally get her wings.  Emmalina is The Mud Fairy! Reviewed by Antonia
