Kepler's 2020 Project in the News:
By Barbara Bottner Miss Brooks teaches first grade, and she LOVES to read to her students with great enthusiasm, and in costume! One of her little first graders is a bit of a grouch. She thinks Miss Brooks is nuts! What’s the big deal about books that would make her teacher act so ridiculously? So when Miss Brooks declares that next week shall be Book Week and that each student shall present a book of their choice, our grumbler does indeed complain vehemently about the assignment. Her bibliophile teacher promises her that she will find that special book and all the fanfare will make sense. But our little ogre is skeptical as she looks at book after book. Poor Mom is enlisted to help sort through the piles of candidates, but none meet with the child’s approval. Until . . . of course, along comes the story of someone with a fiendish character just like our malcontent student, warts and all. Now here is a book to celebrate! Now here is a book that everyone must hear! Children, parents and elementary school teachers will laugh and delight as a petulant kid discovers what we all are certain to be absolutely true: Every grouch shall meet their book!
