Laudree is to Paris as Miette is to San Francisco. To us locals and visitors alike it is a special little place where a few small bites of lavender shortbread can conjure up even the most distant of memories - oh yes - it is that good. It is all here, the macarons, every delicate towering cake, shortbreads, tarts and my personal favorite Miette's now retired Crème Fraiche Scone. It is a beautiful book (scalloped edges and all) that captures how a favorite pastime can take form in something truly beautiful and sweet.  -- Penelope
