From The Memoirs Of A Non-Enemy Combatant - Kepler's Staff Review

In a logical, clear-thinking,  pre-911 world  Boy Hernandez would be madly filling orders with his newly established women’s fashion line, (B)oy for Bergdorf-Goodman, Bloomingdale’s and other trend setting  hotspots . But in this post-911 world of fast and at times, sloppy security work, Boy’s been thrown into Gitmo for allegedly assisting terrorists by funneling money through his clothing design studio. HA! If only he HAD the luxury of a money pipeline for his clothing line!

If only he hadn’t met his downstairs neighbor and made him two fabulous suits. If only that neighbor hadn’t decided to supply enemies of the US with bomb making material. If only he hadn’t gotten money from that “silent-partner” neighbor for working capital to create his genius fashion line. If only his fashion world knew to put some heat on the Feds about his case.

If only the world placed the same importance on art, fashion and beauty that it focuses on war activities, this story could never have been written.

Incredulous, furious and alone he writes his memoirs from earliest childhood in Manila to his imprisonment, proclaiming his innocence, in the hopes that some clear thinking person can spring him from this hell. It’s not even clear that his attorney will get government clearance to meet with him in time for his hearing. It is a very dark time for Boy.

This novel is a laughing scream, a smack of reality and a damn good read!
