This is an amazing true story of four siblings who were orphaned in their youth. Their father died in a car accident and their mother died a short while later from cancer. The youngest was 8 years old when she was orphaned. They were all farmed out to family friends. Some were in decent situations but some were emotionally abused. They had to fend for themselves, yet kept the communication lines open among themselves. They supported each other and really raised each other. How they all came out alive and well is a miracle. My nephew went to Trinity Pawling School and knew Dan. I was blown away by this story of survival and success.
