Rick Riordan has done it again. In this electric first
installment of the Kane Chronicles, he mixes mythology (this time Egyptian),
magic, and adventure as Carter and Sadie Kane embark on a mission to
save their father and, of course, the world. With delightful winks to
his Olympians series (the Egyptian Gods are based in Brooklyn, because
Manhattan is already taken), Riordan sustains a world filled with gods,
magic, and heroes while creating a completely new premise and worldview.
Like so many siblings, Carter and Sadie argue constantly but ultimately come to understand that they are stronger together than apart, no matter how annoying they find each other!
