Kepler's 2020 Project in the News:
Germany invaded Denmark in 1940 and, for over a year, the Danes put up no serious resistance. The British referred to them as Hitler's Canary; "They say he has us in a cage and we just sit and sing any tune he wants." That is until a high-ranking Nazi occupier tips off the Danish Government that on Rosh Hashana the Jews will be deported. What makes Danish society unique in Europe is that everyone considers themselves first and foremost Danish, whether Christian or Jewish, and the Danish people are not about to sit back and watch their countrymen be deported to who-knows-what fate. In this endeavor the children are indispensable, after all, who would suspect a child? [Older Readers (Ages 8 – 12)]
