Words cannot express the joy I felt when I found out Spike Jonze was bringing ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ to the screen, I was pretty stoked as a whirl wind of childhood memories came flooding back. I’m a total geek when it comes to anything involving the ‘Making Of’ a film. This gorgeous book will show fans of all ages how much work and HEART went into making this film. And you just know how big of a role Maurice Sendak had in the planning, writing and dreaming of this picture when you turn the pages of this wonderful book. Everything from finding ‘Max’, casting the ‘Beasts’ we all know and love, getting the cinemotography right – to bringing Max's Wolf Costume come to life. Sitting down to plan and make a Film is hard work but adapting a mere ten sentence Children’s Classic is something entirely different and awe-inspiring!
