Kepler's 2020 Project in the News:
Our
heroine, Claire Shipley, is a single mother raising a young boy who she
loves dearly. She is also a woman in distress over the death of her
daughter, who died at the age of three. As a photojournalist for Life Magazine
during the early days of WWII, she is sent to report on the development
of a new drug called penicillin that could have saved her daughter and
might save the lives of many soldiers in the field. But that is just
the beginning of this intriguing story. Penicillin is scarce and in
high demand. The need for the drug produces a perfect environment for
the murder, greed, and danger that follow its discovery. Claire becomes
embroiled in this critical time in American history, compelling the
reader to turn page after page as they watch the world change through
her eyes. -- Sina H.
