I was blown away by this book. Simple, everyday living by a local parapalegic, living in my own neighborhood. It is told with honesty, dignity and self deprecating humor.
Written in poetic prose, Out of Hell and Into Healing chronicles the author's struggles to heal, grow, live fully and find the divine amongst life's pain and struggles. The book is written in sections on topics such as self-expression, relationships with others, and healing the past. It can be read cover to cover or opened at random to find a poem to inspire one's current circumstances.
Rochael Soper was a founding member of the Women Praying Dangerously group at Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco. Out of Hell and Into Healing was inspired by her work in that group and is her first book of poetry. She continues to explore the practical aspects of spirituality while living in San Francisco where she writes, teaches and practices law.
