The Humane Economy: How Innovators and Enlightened Consumers are Transforming the Lives of Animals

Tickets are available at Kepler's and online at Brown Paper Tickets

Wayne Pacelle is President and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States and is arguably the most dynamic voice in the Animal Protection Movement across the nation. In his new book, The Humane Economy, Pacelle explores the origins and implications of our timeless, organic connection to animals and demonstrates how that essential bond can enable consumers to benefit animals, the environment and human society and why essential decisions about animal welfare can make economic sense as well.

Wayne Pacelle’s first book, The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Calls to Defend Them, was a New York Times Bestseller. In his vast experience with the Humane Society of the United States and other animal welfare organizations, Pacelle has led dozens of successful statewide ballot measures to protect animals such as prohibiting cockfighting, restricting certain traps and poisons, and banning inhumane factory farming methods. He has been instrumental in passing numerous state laws that deal with animal protection. He has also been vocal in criticizing individuals and groups who use intimidation, vandalism or violence in pursuit of animal protection goals.

We hope you'll join us for one of our favorite speakers - genuinely compassionate and funny, an evening with Wayne is one you won't forget.
