These award-winning memoir writers will discuss their personal writing journeys, themes and messages in memoir, and the sometimes-difficult decisions that must be made.

Judith Newton is Professor Emerita in Women and Gender Studies at U.C. Davis where she directed the Women and Gender Studies program for eight years and the Consortium for Women and Research for four.

Linda Joy Myers, Ph. D. is the Founder and President of the National Association of Memoir Writers and the author of The Power of Memoir–How to Write Your Healing Story and Don’t Call Me Mother. Linda has been a therapist in Berkeley for over 30 years, and combines her background in art, clinical work, and writing in her work. She offers unique memoir workshops and trainings in the Bay Area and nationally.
