Assassins Creed Fan Day Are you one of the 96 million people who play Assassin’s Creed? Counting down the days for the movie starring Michael Fassbender to come out? Assassin’s Creed is a thrilling adventure franchise that has inspired video games, comics, novels and now movies set in a mysterious alternate history that rockets between the near future and the far-flung past.
These adventures feature real world events from history and follow the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. In the games, our heroes use the “Animus,” a futuristic device developed by the Abstergo Corporation that allows them to experience the “ancestral memories” of their family’s bloodline. Starting with the Third Crusade, the games and novels have explored a wide variety of settings including the Renaissance, Colonial America, the Golden Age of Piracy, the French Revolution, Imperial China, and Russia’s October Revolution. With settings like Victoria-era London, Ottoman-era Constantinople and the slippery rooftops of Paris, the Assassin’s Creed adventures are a thrill ride not to be missed.
Come and hear Matthew Kirby talk all things Assassin's Creed with a panel of experts and tell us about his new Assassins Creed novel, Last Descendants, a historical action adventure about a group of teens caught up in the centuries-old Assassin-Templar feud. Inspired by the video game series, Last Descendants is set concurrently in the present day, 1860s New York City, and during the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. This exciting novel also features real-life historical figures including William “Boss Tweed,Hernán Cortés, and renowned opera singer Adelina Patti, among others.
