Kepler's 2020 Project in the News:
By Charlie Higson From the author of the Young James Bond series comes something new, something different, something fabulous! A disease has struck the adult population of Britain turning them into mindless monsters feeding on anything still alive --namely their children. A group of kids has banded together at a supermarket, pretty smart really given that this is where the food is, but now the supplies are running out. They must send raiding parties out beyond the protection of the grocery store walls, out into the new world where encountering an adult means certain death. Then comes a visitor, a boy who claims to come from Buckingham Palace and offers them refuge there. But that would mean taking the entire group of children of all ages out into the open, across the London suburbs and into the centre of the city--an almost impossible feat, under the threat of imminent attack from the grown-ups who want to eat them. Should they risk everything and trust the boy who has managed this journey alone? And what exactly will be waiting for them at the palace when they arrive? This is a great post-apocolyptic adventure for the slightly younger fans of Gone and The Hunger Games. I loved it. Reviewed by Antonia |
