About the Author

Ed Schein comes from a 50-year career as Professor of Organizational Psychology at the MIT Sloan School of Management. In his professional life at MIT he helped to create the fields of Organizational Psychology and Organization Development with his fifteen books and over 100 papers. He has written a book analyzing the growth and death of Digital Equipment Corporation, and a book on the Singapore Economic miracle called Strategic Pragmatism. His most recent books are Organizational Culture and Leadership which is in its fourth edition, The Corporate Culture Survival Guide and, most recently Helping: How to offer, give and receive help and Humble Inquiry: The gentle art of asking instead of telling. Ed has been an active consultant to major corporations worldwide and is the recipient of many honors including the Life Time Achievement Award as Scholar/Practitioner from the Academy of Management and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Leadership by the International Leadership Association.
