About the Author


Elizabeth Laird has written numerous illustrated books for children inspired by ageless stories from Asia and Africa, including "Shahnameh: The Persian Book of Kings", "Pea Boy and Other Stories from Iran", and "A Fistful of Pearls and Other Stories from Iraq". She has been shortlisted five times for the Carnegie Medal in Literature. Elizabeth lives in Richmond, Surrey, United Kingdom.
