Atonement - Kepler's Staff Review

This is a novel in four parts, each part being another draft of the novel-in-progress, each stating the problem whose solution is contained in the next installment. Briony Tallis, the narrator, who is also the central character of the book, shreds and reassembles story fragments. Why does the reader feel so outraged at this ambiguity, this unreliable author? Atonement is a tragic love story between Robbie and Briony's older sister Cecilia admist World War Two. The novel's epilogue with its astonishing plot twists reveals what really happened and the true nature of atonement.
