Cynthia Rylant's newest picture book, All in a Day, explores the possibilities in every day. The simple, sweet poetry is perfectly complemented by Nikki McClure's illustrations. I have long been a fan of McClure's gorgeous paper cuts, each created using a single sheet of black paper and an exacto knife. All in a Day makes a wonderful baby shower gift when paired with The First 1,000 Days: A Baby Journal, also illustrated by McClure.
